Eleven adult men escaped from a New Orleans prison on Friday and should be considered armed and dangerous, officials of the Sheriff’s Office of the Parroquia de Orleans warned.
One of the inmates has been arrested; 10 remain in general, said the Sheriff’s office.
Men had no account during a routine staff at the Orleans Justice Center at 8:30 am on Friday, the Sheriff of the Orleans parish, Susan Hutson, told reporters.
Hutson asked the public to remain alert, adding that the Sheriff’s department is working with the local, state and federal police in a “large -scale search operation.”

“We are launching a complete investigation to determine how this escape occurred, including the review of facilities protocols, staff performance and physical security measures,” he said.
Anyone who has helped inmates will be responsible, promised the sheriff.
