Live updates of the Trump administration: Trump portrait in the Colorado Capitol to eliminate

The portrait of President Donald Trump in the Capitol of the State of Colorado will be eliminated, according to the Democrats of the Colorado Rules Chamber, a day after the president asked for what he says that it is a “distorted” painting of himself to be demolished.

“Republican leadership asked him to be demolished,” said a spokesman for Democrats of Colorado House on a statement to ABC News. “The speaker and the leader of the majority focus on keeping the Coloradans safe and reducing costs, not hanging portraits. If the Republican party wants to spend time and money in which Trump’s portrait hangs in the Capitol, then that depends on them.”

The spokesman provided ABC News with a copy of a letter from the Executive Committee of the Legislature of the Legislative Council that ordered the staff “to immediately eliminate the portrait of President Donald Trump of his current exhibition location on the third floor of the Capitol. The eliminated portrait will be stored in a safe and appropriate location, as determined by the Director of Investigation of the personnel of the legislature of the legislative council, until the additional notification.

The leader of the Senate of the State of Colorado, Paul Lunden, Republican, confirmed in a statement to ABC News that requested that Trump’s portrait was replaced by one that “represents his contemporary similarity.”

ABC News has communicated with Colorado’s office.

In a publication about Social truth On Sunday, Trump attacked the painting artist, claiming that “he must have lost his talent as he aged” and that people of Colorado have complained about work.
